Getting Started​

Q: How do I sign up for Practice Room?

A: Go to www.mypracticeroom.org and click Sign Up. You’ll create an account with your email and password. Teachers can request classrooms during sign-up.

Q: Do I need special equipment?
A: Practice Room runs in your browser. We recommend a USB microphone or audio interface for best recording quality, but you can get started with your computer or phone mic.

Using Practice Room​

Q: How do I create a classroom as a teacher?
A: After signing up, request a classroom from the classroom portion of Practice Room. Open Practice Room, click the classroom button (if it hasn’t loaded already), and then click the “Create Group” button to request a classroom. We recommend creating one classroom for each individual student unless you’re teaching a group.

Q: What kinds of assignments can I give students?
A: You can assign theory lessons, creative projects, recording submissions, and collaborative songwriting exercises. Upload media in their classroom that only they can see. See the Assignment Template resource by going to www.mypracticeroom.org -> Practice Room from the menu -> Files in the Extra Resources block -> Teacher Resources.

Q: Can students use Practice Room without a teacher?
A: Yes. Students can access asynchronous classes, resources, and the built-in DAW on their own.

Technical & Troubleshooting​

Q: Practice Room won’t load — what should I do?
A: First, refresh the page and check your internet connection. If you’re using Safari, try Chrome or Edge. If problems continue, contact loganlowery@pizzaboxmedia.com.

Q: My microphone isn’t working.
A: Check your browser permissions and make sure Practice Room has access to your mic. Restarting your browser usually fixes it.

​

Q: What devices are supported?
A: Practice Room works best on laptops and desktops. Mobile is supported but some features are limited.

Payments & Accounts​

Q: How much does Practice Room cost?
A: Teachers can subscribe monthly for a flat rate that covers all their students. Students using asynchronous classes will see pricing when they sign up. (See pricing page for details.)

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your account dashboard.

​

Q: Can I transfer my account to a new device?
A: Yes — log out on your old device and log in on the new one with the same account.
